A rare sealed ‘mallet’ wine bottle, c1730-35, of dark green glass, the neck with applied string rim, the seal to the shoulder lettered SP, the underside with deep ‘kick up’ and sand pontil scar, 19cm high.
Provenance:
Discovered by the late father of the present vendor on a ledge in cave during redevelopment in Nottingham city centre in the 1970’s
